BB is not in an episode or volume of Death Note, nor is he in the live action movies. Beyond Birthday is a character in the spin off novel that features Naomi Misora, the Los Angeles BB Murder Case. That book, called a light novel (due to its short length) is the ONLY canon reference to BB.
The closest he gets to being referenced in the anime or manga is L mentioning that he has worked previously with Naomi Misora. In the manga, if I remember correctly, L even refers to the Los Angeles BB Murder Case by name, so I guess his initials are in the actual text. But, without having previous knowledge that BB is indeed the initials of a person, one would be hard pressed to garner such information from that singular reference.
Death Note: Another Note: The Los Angelas BB Murder Cases is not something that you can watch. It is a spin-off novel from the original Death Note series by nisosin.

Beyond Birthday (aka BB) is a maniacal killer who is not in the original Death Note. He is introduced in Death Note: Another Note, the Los Angeles BB Murder Cases (a prequel to Death Note) as the head antagonist. His true appearance is unknown, as he cosplays as L. His personality is quite the opposite of L's, however; BB's goal is to become the world's best criminal or, more specifically, to devise a plan that L cannot solve. BB was born half-shinigami. He did not have to make the 'eye deal', unlike Misa Amane and Soichoro Yagami of the Death Note series. Like Wammy children, who seem to have certain quirks, BB's quirk is his love for jam. I'm guessing it adds to the 'blood-like' creepiness?
