Yagan and Pemulwuy were fighters from very early on in the European settlement. They provided 'Indigenous Resistance' to the settlers. Pemulwuy was from the era that the Europeans first settled in 1788 and he led many attacks on the settler's to gain land. He was beheaded in 1808. Yagan rebelled when someone from his tribe was shot in the late 1820's-Early 1830's and we was caught, then he escaped and was on the run for 1 year before being shot by a Shepherd he had been friends with in 1833.
