The Vendian Period is a time period in geologic history that lasted from 650 - 543 million years ago. The Vendian is also known as the Ediacaran or as the Proterozoic.
The precambrian era lasted from roughly 4.57 Ga to 0.54 Ga before today, equalling about 88 % of Earth's history.
The Precambrian Super-Eon lasted from Earths creation 4.54 billion years ago until the Cambrian Period 542 million years ago. Some 3.998 billion years. This accounts for about 88% of Earth's history.
An era is a period of geologic time which varies in length but is many millions of years. For instance, the current era of geologic time, the Cenozoic, has lasted for over 65 million years to date.

The geological division that lasted for just over 7/8ths of the Earth's history is the Precambrian Super-Eon. It started 4576.2 million years ago with the formation of Earth and ended 542 million years ago at the start of the Cambrian Period. It is made up of the Hadean, Archean and Proterozoic Eons. Although the super-eon is widely recognised as a time division this is only an unofficial term. The ICS prefer to use the Eon when describing the time before the Cambrian.
It lasted 3100-3000BC.
