First of all there are two totally different novels by that name, as well as a quote from Shakespeare which was in a war situation, so that sets the staging area. The first novel dealt with a combat unit of paratroopers in the ETO against the Germans. The second novel was not strictly speaking a war novel, but was about an informal alliance by four Commercial ( and at least some of them ex- AF types) pilots in investigating a freak accident that almost, but not quite, killed a comrade friend. The Plot gets a little hokey, why would these guys risk their steady jobs by engaging in such unatuthorized actvity as Gumshoe detective work? the airmen's novel was written by Ernest Gann, well known for the type. There is no connection between the two novels except the title. Take off at your own risk!
