The players start the turns in order with the closest to Pat Sajak going first
you are either confusing the show or the show's country. The Wheel of Fortune is a game of skill and fortune so it does not have championships. The few rounds the contestant can buzz in if they know the answer are not the rounds worth the most. Contestant quick solves earn less than chances on winning after they have solved it or people who are lucky enough to learn the solution later in the game. Many Contestants can do nothing about the fact they know the puzzle's solution until it is there turn and then they can spin a bankrupt or lose a turn instead of the better spins. Championships do not exist for the series and you answered the question yourself by saying they could return up to 3 days. It's hard to know every change for a show in the 30th season and there was also a Network show on during the daytime that was cancelled over 20 years ago. Then they have had many versions of the program around the world.
