Aqualung - Something to believe in.
Jonathan Togo as he is named, joined CSI:Miami in 2004, which means he appeared in the show in the end of season 2 or in the beginning of season 3. This was shortly after detective Tim "Speed" Speedle's tragical death.
The character of Tim Speedle played by Rory Cochrane died in episode 1 (Lost Son) of Season 3. The character of Horatio Caine was supposedly killed in the final episode of Season 6 (Going Ballistic) However Horatio's death was a fake.
Amanda Tapping didn't leave. She played the entire 10 season SG1 series. She made an appearance in the Atlantis series for 1 season when they had to replace Wier after her supposed death. I suposed the reason for that was that after Wier's death they needed to use a military leader until they could find a civillian replacement.
She fakes her death in the episode "Phantom" in which is the finale of the season six.
No in one episode they fake his death but no he is still alive :)

In the context which I think you're referring eminent would mean something is about to happen (immediately... right now), as in the phrase "eminent bodily injury or death". Actually the word you are thinking of is imminent and if you don't believe me look the word imminent up in the dictionary. eminent i just looked at it somewhere else said high rank, noteworthy, distinguished.
