The Lakota, (depending on the tribe for the spelling and pronunciation), prefer not to say good bye, but rather, I'll see you soon, or "I'll see you again someday" which is spoken in an abbreviated way, "Toksha". I think the spelling is Toksha Ake.In all actuality, there really is no word for goodbye in Lakota, for that would mean the hoop of love and connectedness would be broken.
