No country could afford to make gold Threepences. Most countries using the Threepence ceased to make them from silver between the late 1940's and the 1960's due to the high cost of silver. Some coins may have developed tarnishing on the surface giving them a pale gold appearance. Alternatively, somebody may have had the coin gold plated.

A 1941 silver threepence is only 50% silver (assuming for a moment we are talking about British coins) and as such is really only worth a bit less than a dollar in scrap silver. 1941 isn't a rare year for British silver threepence, however, mint state examples are desirable and can bring a sizable premium over silver scrap.
Yes, the 1939 coin is worth more, but only in Mint Uncirculated condition, otherwise they are worth about the same. The 1942 "One Dot" Threepence is a minting error and represents about 8% of the 1942 Threepences minted.
Such a coin does not exist. Threepences have never been made from copper.

It depends on the type of threepence. A nickel-brass (multiple sided) threepence is rather common and would sell for 50p to a pound or so if circulated. A silver threepence on the other hand is 50% silver (and much smaller) and worth about a pound or two mostly for the silver if circulated.

Thrupenny bit ! A small silver coin issued for hundreds of years until 1945. The silver Threepence was gradually replaced by a brass coin with 12 sides and issued from 1937 to 1967. The Threepence had a value of 3 Pence. The equivalent of 1.25 Pence in today's money. Depending on the type of Threepence, its condition and date of issue it could be worth anything from a few pence to several hundred Pounds. Most commonly though they are plentiful and not worth much at all. Under £1.
