Cloverfield 2 is a direct sequel to the 2008 film, Cloverfield.

It follows a High School Junior (Nick) who spends his time trying to figure out how to impress the girl of his dreams (Christina), and records himself for a YouTube video. One night while sleeping, Nick is awoken by a nearby explosion off the LA. bay, a police officer who happened to be in the same apartment as Nick, goes out to check it out. The Officer is then attacked by an unknown parasite, who Nick claims is the size of a fully grown dog. Christina who is a popular girl at Nick's school, calls one of her friends, who was living in Nick's apartment aswell. Nick then scrambles out of his dorm and down to Christina's friend, Lacey, who is then attacked and devoured by the parasite. Christina becomes scared once she hears Lacey scream in pain. And runs outside before vomiting due to shock, the next day at school, Nick confronts Christina about her fallen friend before the Hazmat teams comes in and closes off the school due to another death in one of the rooms. The parasite them breaks through a window followed by several others. Nick and Christina escape the building only to find the mother parasite, which is later revealed as Clover's mother. The creature then goes on a rampage throughout Downtown LA. One Japanese man running says: "Where's Godzilla when you need him." The Mother Clover then is bombarded by missiles and heavy artilary, only to no evaul. after the United Nations dicusse what to do, one sujest that they nuke LA. With no other option, the president, declares LA be nuked. As Christina and Nick try to escape the city, they are caught between the creature and a Giant Robot (a tribute to MechaGodzilla) who then fight each other, the robot is easily destroyed, as the mother screams out for her son, the monster is nuked, and pronounced dead. Nick and Christina who before dies along with the monster, share there final moments and kiss as they are desinagrated by the intense heat.
