It really depends on the books you find her in. As she is a mythological character, it is rather hard to pinpoint exactly what her personality is...but here is what I've gathered from books like The Odyssey and the Aeneid and even Percy Jackson and the Olympians:

Hera does not like heroes as she envies that the other gods and goddesses can have children, while she (because she is the goddess of marriage) cannot have mortal children. She is easily angered and often jealous. However, she does have a strong feeling of keeping family together. She is sometimes like the glue that holds the Olympians together because of her connection to family. As she is Queen of the gods, she acts sort of superior or snide.

Again, this may vary from book to book and from myth to myth.
