There are lots of different cultures that make up New Zealand, so there is a lot of variety in the food eaten here. Traditional New Zealand food originates from the UK, so lots of beef and mutton and chicken are eaten. On a sunday, especially for the older generation, a roast is eaten for lunch - typically lamb with roast veges - potatoes, carrots, onion, kumara, pumpkin and other veges such as peas, corn, beans, just to name a few, and of course served with a rich homemade gravy
