Slime made with Borax is easy ... if you do it right. All you need is borax, water, white glue and food coloring (optional). The key is the temperature of the water. I've found many sites with lots of ways to make slime, but they always mention something about "leftover" watery substance after you've mixed the slime. The reason for this is because they haven't used hot water. Here's what you do:
Mix 1 teaspoon borax in 1 cup of warm / hot water.
Stir until the borax is dissolved.
In a separate container, mix 1/2 cup (4 oz) white glue with 1/2 cup steaming hot water. Add food coloring, if desired and mix well.
Pour glue mixture into borax mixture and stir vigorously.
It's as simple as that and this stuff is hours of fun for kids. I've made it three times now at four batches each time and my kids would play with this non-stop if I let them. It's not near as messy as play dough or clay and offers them twice the fun with half the tools. They love to cover toys, pour it from cup to cup, fill up their play ice cream cones and dishes ... cut it, shape it, stretch it ...
HAVE FUN!
