Wellington is well known for being the capital city of New Zealand, and the home of Peter Jackson, Director of amongst other films Lord of the Rings and King Kong. Production of both movies were based in Wellington as well.

Locally, Wellington is regarded as the windy city, and is home to the Rugby Franchise called 'The Hurricanes', who compete in the Southern Hemisphere Super 14 Competition.
