A heater is a word for a gun, and Dally carries an unloaded gun for protection
He is shot by the police after he robs a grocery store after he pulls out his unloaded heater(gun) after he sees Johnny Cade's death in the hospital. Dally dies because Johnny was the only thing that Dally loved, and after Johnny died, Dally couldn't take not having Johnny there.
There was no set answer to this in the book. One can infer that it was to keep up the entire tough guy act that he did and to protect the ones he loved.
I think it was darry or dally. O_O one of the two. *It was Dally
In "The Outsiders," when Dally refers to his "heater," he is talking about his gun. The phrase "sure does help a buff" implies that having a weapon gives him a sense of power and protection, particularly in a rough environment where violence is common. Dally feels that the gun enhances his status and ability to defend himself, reflecting the themes of toughness and survival in the novel.
there is no one named Dally Curtis. Either you mean Darry Curtis or Dally Winston.

More or less, it was for intimidation. It was Soc against grease because of Bob's death. Greasers couldn't walk around alone without being jumped. If they did, they better have a weapon. Dally had the heater for show, not for murder.
To remove the heater from a 1967 Pontiac Firebird, first disconnect the battery and drain the cooling system. Then, remove the heater hoses from the heater core, followed by unscrewing the heater box from the firewall. Lastly, detach any electrical connections and remove the entire heater assembly from the vehicle. Make sure to keep track of any screws or clips for reinstallation.
Johnny's death was so difficult for Dally to handle because Johnny is Dally's pet. He is one of the only people that Dally cared for and now, Johnny is dead. Johnny's death was like losing a family member to every Greaser but to Dally, it was similar to losing his life. Therefore, it was extremely difficult for Dally to handle to death of Johnny.
