A 'squaw' refers to an indigenous woman, and can therefore not be male.

Although it is a word derived from a Aloginquin root, it is presently considered very offensive. Women of another culture or ethnicity or race are called "women" in today's American English. To use a different word, tends to show that the speaker views the woman as not "normal" or that they are not quite "like us" or even "not human". Don't use this word.
