The idea of possession was accepted in the crucible, because people had no actual prooof of spirits being in the presence of them, so they had to believe whatever a person saw or thaught they saw. That why they believed Abigail and the rest of the girls of the village when they fell out or when something bad happened to them.
New zealand is a bicultural country, it has two cultures: Maori, the indigenous culture, and Pakeha, a multi-culture made up of all the cultures that have settled New Zealand since its discovery by Europeans.
because it symbolized a new beginning in freedom and culture. and it also gave people the idea that anything was possible. it started new business and increased jobs and economic growth. also giving Africans Americans some type of authority of who they were.
All new ideas which upset the "current order" take a while to be accepted. The first expression of the heliocentric model of the solar system was by Aristarchus of Samos, 2400 years ago; it wasn't until Copernicus did his work that it became generally accepted. Galileo and Newton in physics overturned Aristotle. The theory of plate tectonics and continental drift was generally laughed at when I was in school. (But now you learn it IN school.) Sir Fred Hoyle coined the term "big bang" in mockery, compared to the accepted "steady state" theory. Luis Alvarez was derided as an insane madman for coming up with the impossible notion that a city-sized rock falling from space might have killed off the dinosaurs, and that was only 50 years ago! Now we (think we) know better. Every new idea goes through a weeding out process. Somebody makes a highly improbable assertion. Other scientists examine the idea, and try to come up with evidence for or against it. Somebody figures out a mechanism by which this might have happened. (Many "new ideas" disintegrate at these stages, and go no further. Not every "new idea" is true, and this weeding-out process is part of the "scientific method".)

This behavior is known as "cultural adaptation" or "acculturation." It refers to the process through which individuals adjust to a new culture or environment by adopting the beliefs, behaviors, and practices of that culture in order to fit in and be accepted.
Culture influences how one thinks because everyone wants to be accepted. when you want to be accepted you do dumb things that mainly come with the culture that you live in. The culture that we live in now puts most of the influence on how you look dress and act, so when that is the culture then it's reasnoble to think that that's what everyone will want to do.
New ideas are often rejected due to fear of change, lack of understanding, or resistance to innovation. Before new ideas should be accepted, they need to be thoroughly researched, tested, and communicated effectively to address any concerns or conflicts. Additionally, buy-in and support from key stakeholders are essential for successful implementation.
He opposes it, saying that even though the idea may be popular elsewhere, it cannot be accepted by Samoan culture.
