A genuine rare find indeed since the San Francisco mint stopped producing cents in 1955 and only resumed production for a few years following 1968. The bag may be worth something if it is marked San Francisco Mint but the coins themselves can not be distinguished from those made in the Philadelphia Mint. Single BU coins sell for between 10 and 40 times face value on e-bay. A 50 dollar bag of them should draw some interest and you might want to try e-bay for a buyer.
one cent
An original can sell for between $1,500-$9000 depending on condition; however, a signed first edition can be worth up to $18,000.
All dimes from 1960 to 1970 are worth at least 10 cents. Dimes from 1960 to 1964 are worth at least $2 for there silver content. Dimes dated 1965 to 1970 are only worth face value unless they are uncirculated.
Jane Darwell. Her last movie was Mary Poppins (1964), in which she played The Bird Woman ("Feed the birds, tuppence a bag, tuppence, tuppence, tuppence a bag").
1964 was the last date of silver quarters. There are a couple of technicalities here. First, quarters were never pure silver. The silver was always alloyed with about 10% copper. Second, during the changeover to cupronickel clad coinage, silver quarters were struck during calendar 1965 but they still had the date 1964, so there's no way to tell what year a "1964" quarter was actually minted. 1964 was the last year the US produced silver quarters for circulation. There have been silver quarters issued since 1964 but they were primarily special coins for collectors and investors.
Face value only. Billions were minted.
They're worth one cent.Specific pennies from 1964 or earlier could be worth considerably more to a collector, but you'd really need to take them to one to get an estimate. The value depends on the details and the condition of the coin.
You can, but they're not worth very much. They're only worth about 2 cents for their copper content.
The 1964 Lincoln penny is unfortuantely worth 1 penny. This was not a key date amongst pennies. Most valuable pennies were wheat and Indian head cents dating from 1859-1958
Australian 1964 Pennies were minted in 1964, so as at January 2011, they are 47 years old.
The U.S. has never struck a silver one cent coin. The coin has been plated and has no collectible value. The above is wrong. 1960 some pennies were accidentally stamped on dime casts. Also again in 1964. Also in 1964 there were 12 pennies made out of aluminum.
France did not use pennies, only francs and centimes. Please post a new question with the coin's denomination.
Sorry, but I really don't have an answer because I also have an unopened bottle of this. I have done a little searching and from what I can find, the value does not go up much for crown.
Juliet - The Four Pennies song - was created in 1964.
Since this is a very rare date for Jamaican half pennies, it is worth $380-$645 based on the condition. Congrats on your find!
With the possible exception of traders tokens (with the traders business name on them), there were no "Australian" pennies minted prior to 1911. The only Pennies circulating in Australia prior to 1911 were British Pennies.
All Australian Pennies minted from 1938 to 1964 inclusive feature a kangaroo on the reverse. The only Australian coins to feature wheat was the 1938 to 1964 inclusive, silver Threepence coins.
