A wave motion gun is a superweapon first used by the Yamato (Argo in starblazers), which could vaporize an entire fleet. It takes the tachyon energy from the Wave Motion Engine and charges it up in the bow of the Yamato. The energy is released instantly when the trigger is pulled by the remote control in the 1st bridge. After the wave motion gun was first used, enemy ships began copying it or making their own wave motion gun. By 2205, it was standard on all ships in the EDF.

(not to be confused with shock cannon)

Height of a normal ocean wave?

It really depends on where in the world but I think in the pacific allot of the waves are above 8m tall because there is no land to brake them.+===The height of a normal surface wave does not depend on where it is but on the unbroken distance across the sea on which the wind can act. Approaching land, waves increase in height and steepness as the shallows impede them, before they topple completely and convert the wave motion into a tumbling mass of water.

What is the fastest moving earthquake wave?

The P-wave which is a form of body wave known as a compression or longitudinal wave.

What is the difference between oscillating and rotational motion?

Rotational motion is motion which emulates that of the minute hand of a clock. Oscillating motion is motion which emulates that of the pendulum.

Why did scientists develop the wave mechanical model?

It is believed the German mathematician Max Planck was instrumental in this. there was the wave-particle theory of light, it acts like a wave ( say in focusing lenses, for example, not too different physics-wise from, say tuning a radio, and yet it is also seen as particles. is it matter or energy,. Light is of course, energy. The notable analogy of the wave/particle duality ( as it was called) would be the situation of waves on the ocean which are both en energy ( the motion of the waves, often following a sine pattern), and matter- H20. that is the best anaogy. There is also the Quantum ( like quantity) theory of light. )

How is radar used to determine the speed of moving objects?

The "radar gun" is not the same as position-finding radar. Using microwaves (or a pulsed laser), it determines the speed of an object by measuring the change in the frequency of the waves when they are reflected back toward the gun.In this application it is useful to think of light as a series of waves. Radar then is radio frequency waves sent out from the radar gun to the vehicle under consideration. These waves travel at a set speed that is constant, nothing can change how fast they go, but the distance the waves are from each other can be varied. This spacing of the radio waves is referred to as the frequency. The closer the waves are to each other, then more of them can travel past a certain point in a given second. The farther apart the waves are, the number passing a certain point in any given second will be lower. Frequency then is a measurement of number of waves per second passing a certain point. Usually we don't consider unit-less values in such measurements so frequency is just considered to be (/second), (per second), or Hertz. When a radio wave strikes a car it is reflected back the way it came, back to the radar gun where there is a coil that can detect them. If the radar gun were fired at a stationary wall the frequency of the waves coming back would be exactly the same as the frequency of the waves going out, and the instrumentation of the gun would interpret this as a stationary object. If the wall was moving towards the gun however, then, in the time between the successive radio waves striking the wall, the wall moved a little bit closer to the gun. This makes the second radio wave get reflected sooner and the second wave travels back to the gun closer to the first wave then when the two of them left the gun. This is an increase in frequency. The radio waves are still traveling at the same speed (the speed is always constant, can't vary) but they are closer to each other, more concentrated. The instrumentation in the radar gun detects this change in frequency and uses it to calculate the speed of the approaching wall. It works the same way to determine the speed of a car.

the motion of a wave changes when it moves

What is the difference between bulk motion and wave motion?

In Bulk Motion, the actual object is moving along in a wave formation. In Wave Motion, only the wave is moving, not the material . Picture a 'wave' at a ball game. The people move up and down but not from seat to seat. This is Wave Motion.

In a compressional wave the motion of the particle are parallel to the motion of the wave?

Yes

Which kind of wave is a water wave?

A wave in a body of water is a traveling transverse wave because the motion of the medium (water) is perpendicular to the motion of the wave.
