Some may disagree, but I say at whatever age you can read.

I don't mean 1st grade--that's taking it a bit to literal, but I don't think literature should be restricted by age.

I don't think so, because the book is all about revenge and unrequited love, two themes that are not so appropriate for such a young age.

Who is the author of withering heights?

The correct name of this novel is Wuthering Heights . . . yes, with a "u". Wuthering Heights was the only novel written by Emily Bronte (BRON-tay) before she died at age 30.

How much is your book Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte 1943 worth?

Wuthering Heights is a classic novel for children ages 8-12. Other than this age group, the novel has no literary value whatsoever to adults above the age of 12 and children younger than 8. I think someone is playing a trick on you. Wuthering heights is a classic peice of English literature, and considered (for some strange reason) to be one of the greatest love stories ever told. The first answer here is ridiculous a child 8-12 would have to be exceptionally gifted if they were able to read and understand the language used in Wuthering Heights. Many adults would not. It is a classic piece of literature and as a love story I have read no other like it.

Should 11 years old and up be an appropriate age to read breaking dawn?

i do not believe 11 is an appropriate age to read breaking dawn, but if you think your child is ready to read it, go ahead. i would say starting from age 12-13 and up is more of an appropriate age for breaking dawn.

How the setting helps develop the story in Wuthering Heights?

The novel's narrator tells the story in the winter months of 1801 in a moor country in England. The actual tale and events contained in Wuthering Heights, however, spans across the time period of approximately 1778 through 1801 and is set in the same aforementioned moor country near a village called Gimmerton. The setting is important to the plot, characters, and conflicts of the novel as it is set in the Georgian era of British history and society differed greatly when held in comparison to the moral codes and laws of today. Marrying one's cousin was not considered 'wrong,' and this is critical in that Catherine Linton marries two of her cousins in the novel. Analyzing the book from an even more modern perspective, Heathcliff and Catherine are technically brother and sister, yet they love as lovers do. This too, is deemed as unnatural in today's age, however, it was not so for the time period in which Wuthering Heights is set.The setting is crucial, for as many things that are deemed unacceptable in today's world were extremely commonplace in that era. One must remember that as times change, literature changes as well; in reading a book such as Wuthering Heights, one must think as a reader from those times would.

Why did Emily Bronte only write one novel?

Emily Bronte only wrote one novel, "Wuthering Heights," likely due to personal reasons such as her struggle with poor health and her premature death at the age of 30. Additionally, the success and impact of "Wuthering Heights" may have overshadowed any potential future works she may have considered writing.

What do you do when you're eleven and not allowed to read twilight?

well hun if your not aloud to read twilight just wait it out until you can...OR...tell your parents that the book will improve your reading skills...it helped me alot there were words that i didn't know exist but now i use them all the time!! goodluck!!♥ >> Read something else! If you want to improve your reading skills or to enrich your vocabulary, Twilight is not the answer to that. Books by writers such as Mark Twain, Charles Dickens, John Steinbeck et. al. are more worthy of your time. Believe me. =) >>>well yes you have a point there but if you are into romance then that's the book for you but there are plenty more books lke twilight...maybe read romeo & Juliet, wuthering heights, the notebook...read something more in your age group....♥<<<
