This process simply extends what nature began, since it is heat and pressure that give gemstones their color in the first place.
The word "enhanced" or "treated" are the same in gemology. The difference stays in the trade where traders use word "enhanced" instead of "treated" to make a physiological advantage on buyers. Both the words are accepted, internationally.

∙ 7y agoHeating causes the colors of a gemstone to lighten, darken or change color completely. It also enhances the brightness and clarity in a gemstone. If a gemstone is heated, it is not visible to the naked eye and can only be detected in a laboratory.
