Ex: 06210. French postcodes have five digits. The first two ones are the department code, from 01 to 95 (971 to 974 for oversea departments). The others indicate the town. 000 is the department's administrative capital, 100, 200, 300, .... are the other main towns or sometimes a division of the major one; 310, 320, 330... would indicate a post office in a smaller town around the town coded "300".
