Digital sound is a rather silly name.

Digital refers to how the sound is stored, as a huge number of ones and zeros. Ths stream of ones and zeros can then be fed as instructions to something like a computer, or something that works like a computer, and the computer will understand the instructions and turn them into something called an analouge(or analog)electric signal which then can be turned into sound by a set of headphones or speakers.

Sound, the "thing" that we hear, is never digital.

Who made digital sound?

The Bell telephone Company invented digital sound in 1943.

What creates sound from digital instructions?

Sound from digital instructions is created by speakers or headphones converting electrical signals sent from the device into mechanical vibrations that produce sound waves in the air. These sound waves are then interpreted by our ears as sound.

Can I change the chime sound of my digital clock?

Yes, there are digital clocks available that offer different sound options.

What are AD and DA?

AD is Analog to Digital conversion the use is to do digital measurements of analog voltages and currents, a computer soundcard is an AD converter that convert analog sound to digital sound so that it can be played on a computer, and DA is the opposite, digital to analog conversion, the digital sound on the computer is converted to analog sound to drive a speaker or headphone

Is sound signal a digital signal?

Sound signals are typically analog signals because they represent continuous waveforms that vary in amplitude and frequency. However, when sound is converted into a digital format through sampling and quantization, it becomes a digital signal. This digital representation can be processed, stored, and transmitted by digital devices. Thus, while sound itself is inherently analog, it can be transformed into a digital signal for various applications.

What is the term used when digital values are converted to create an analog sound?

When digital values are converted to create an analog sound, the term used is Digital-to-Analog converter.

How do analog sound systems compare to digital systems?

There are many different noted differences of an analog sound system when compared to a digital sound system. The most referenced difference is that of quality of sound.

What converts your voices sound waves to digital signals?

A microphone converts voice sound waves into electrical signals, which are then digitized by an analog-to-digital converter (ADC) to produce digital signals. These digital signals can then be processed and transmitted digitally.

What changes your voice's sound waves into digital signals?

A device called an analog-to-digital converter (ADC) changes your voice's sound waves into digital signals. When you speak, your voice produces sound waves that are then captured by a microphone. The microphone converts these sound waves into electrical signals, which the ADC processes and transforms into a digital format that can be stored or transmitted by electronic devices.

What are different types of digital technology?

Digital clock or a digital camera are a couple of examples. Sound now is broadcast in a digital format as are data transmissions
