A Sharingan is a doujutsu or eye technique that is the bloodline limit or kekkei genkai of the Uchiha clan in the series Naruto. Sharingan means Copy wheel eye or mirror wheel eye. The Sharingan goes throut three stages:

• Lv. 1 has the ability is to memorize any technique that it witnesses. The user's pupil will turn red and develop one tomoe or what looks like a comma. It can memorize any standard form of jutsu with perfect accuracy, allowing the user to use the techniques as his own.
• Lv. 2 enables the user incredible clarity of perception, allowing them to track fast-moving objects with ease and even predict the subsequent movements of those objects. The user pupil will turn red and develop two tomoe.
• Lv. 3 is the complete form of the basic sharingan. This level grants the capability of a unique brand of hypnosis that involves suggesting actions and thoughts to the opponent, the is called Genjutsu. The user pupil will turn red and develop three tomoe in both eyes. In this level the user can read Genjutsu, Taijutsu and Ninjutsu, learn how the skill is done and then copy it to be used later. This allows the user to perfectly mimic every move their opponent makes, even before they do, making it appear as if the user can see the future.

There is one more level of sharingan. This is called Mangekyou (M-on-ge-k-yo) sharingan. It means Kaleidoscope mirror wheel eye. It is a heightened form of Sharingan. It enables three new techniques Tsukuyomi, Amaterasu, and Susanoo. Eventually the user will go blind from these techniques. Tsukuyomi means moon god in Japanese and is a form of genjutsu or illusionary techniques. Amaterasu means sun goddess in Japanese and is a Katon ninjutsu or Fire style ninja technique that is black and can burn anything for 7 days an 7 night is not sealed. Susanoo is a technique that creates a spiritual being resembling a yamabushi, wielding the sacred Yata no Kagami (Eight Span Mirror), a mirror that's considered one of the three sacred treasures capable of reflecting all attacks, as a shield in its left hand, and in its right, the legendary Totsuka no Tsurugi (Ten Hands Long Sword), also known as the Sakenagi Longsword (Sakenagi no Tachi; Sake Cutter Longsword). The Totsuka no Tsurugi, commonly sheathed in a sake jar held by a third hand. It can block anything including Kirin, Sasuke's natural lightning technique.

The Mangekyo Sharingan is the second of three stages to the Sharingan. When awakened, the user's eyesight continually falters until they are completely blind. When using the Mangekyo Sharingan too much, the users eyes are damaged further and painfully too. The only way to stop this is to replace his eyes with another Mangekyo Sharingan user's. This creates the third stage of the Sharingan: the Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan. There are four Jutsu awakened with the Mangekyo. They are Tsukuyomi, Amaterasu, Susano'o, and Kamui. Tsukuyomi (the Nightmare Realm) is the ultimate Genjutsu. Time and space are warped inside of Tsukuyomi. Seconds in the real world will feel like days in Tsukuyomi. Afterwards, the target is completely worn out for weeks. Amaterasu (the Japanese God of the Sun) is the ultimate Fire Style Ninjutsu. The user casts black flames towards the target that can't go out until either the user ends the Jutsu, or the target is annihilated. Itachi Uchiha once used this Jutsu against the Fire Ball Jutsu. Since his target was the Fire Ball, he was able to put out fire with fire. Susano'o (unknown translation) is the ultimate Spirit Weapon. The users chakra and soul are mixed together to form a giant, firey Samurai warrior surrounding them like armor. Itachi's Susano'o was invincible. It carried the Yata Mirror and the Totsuka Blade. The Yata Mirror is a shield made of pure chakra that can deflect anything. The Totsuka Blade is a sword that strikes the target's soul and seals it away in a drunken stupor for the rest of eternity inside the sake bottle-shaped hilt. Sasuke Uchiha's Susano'o, carries a bow and arrow that shoots pure Amaterasu flames. Kamui is the ultimate Sealing Jutsu. This technique is only used by Kakashi Hatake. It seals the target in another dimension. All in all, the Mangekyo Sharingan is a very powerful Visual Jutsu, but it has it's bad side.
