My answer is actually a question. Before satelites, when television was only possible through air waves, was it possible to block reception to a particular home? An example would be a totalitarin government blocking reception to viewers.
Movies, because the television made it possible to see programs such as the news at home instead of going out.

If memory serves me correctly, LG is a Korean brand formerly known as Goldstar. They also purchased the Zenith brand, so it's possible since Zenith had its plants in Mexico that some of their TV's are made there as well.
