The Piako Swamp was a large wetland area in the North Island of New Zealand, formed from the floodplains of the Waihou and Piako rivers, northeast of the city of Hamilton. they were largely drained to become the farmland of the Hauraki Plains in the early 20th century, but parts of them west of the towns of Te Aroha and Paeroa have been preserved as wildlife refuges, notably the Kopuatai Peat Dome.
