Ponyboy Curtis is the youngest of the Curtis brothers in the book The Outsiders. He is fourteen and he is from the south side of town and is a greaser. He has two older brothers, Darry and Sodapop who care for him because their parents passed away. He goes to school and is on the track team and is quite fast. He has long swept back hair. To basically describe Pony's character, he is a really good kid. Most greasers are known as bad boys who do nothing but trouble, but even if he has that kind of reputation, he is really the opposite. He would really never harm anyone and is different than most greasers. Many are hard exteriored and interiored and don't let anything get to them but Pony is different. He actually feels things deeper than most and is sensitive. He can be tough when he needs to, also. He digs sunsets, and most greasers haven't even seen one their entire lives, but he always watches them. He is one of those boys that like watching a movie alone so that he can enjoy it and feel the movie, and likes reading books too, like Gone with the Wind. He is an extremely smart kid and is good in school. His brother Darry constantly nags him to do everything his best and it frustrates him alot. He loves his brother Soda and feels like he can come and talk about his troubles with him. His best buddy is Johnny, but everyone calls him JonnyCake. He is an amazing person. But, most importantly, Pony is golden. If you read the book, you'll understand what that means. :)
