Sathya Sai Baba (1926-2011) was an Indian holy man who was born on November 23, 1926. Even the word "holy man" is very lacking. Sai Baba means divine mother and father. Sathya means truth. Followers believe him to be somewhat of a modern day Jesus. According to them, he is part of a triple incarnation that includes Shirdhi Sai Baba who lived in the 1800s, Sathya Sai, and Prema Sai Baba who will be born after Sathya Sai Baba leaves. Sathya Sai said he would live until 96 years of age. His teaching is very simple and summed up in some of his famous phrases. "Love All, Serve All" "Help Ever and Hurt Never" "One Heart, Bodies apart" "all are One, be alike to everyone." In the Bhagavad Gita (The Hindu Holy book) or "Song of God" Krishna (God) states that "For the protection of the virtuous, for the destruction of evil-doers and for establishing righteousness on a firm footing, I incarnate from age to age. Whenever disharmony (asanthi) overwhelms the world, the Lord will incarnate in human form to establish the modes of earning peace (prasanthi) and to reeducate the human community in the paths of peace. At the present time, strife and discord have robbed peace and unity from the family, the school, the society, the religions, the cities, and the state." Devotees of Sai Baba believe the triple incarnation of Sai Baba to be a fullfilment of this prophecy and God incarnated on Earth. Like many Holy fiqures such as Jesus, Buddha and Krishna, Sai Baba has some detractors who would like to discredit and malign him and some cases kill him. He states that even his detracters are part of the divine drama. Baba States that even if everything and every being in the Universe rose up against him they could not stop or delay his mission in any way whatsoever.
