What is the Pretty Little Liars series about?

The series is about a group of four girls who experienced a lost of their best friend Allison. They start receiving text messages from a person named -A. Later in the series they find out -A was Mona ( Hanna's Ex Best Friend) The series is Young Adult and talks about some problems teens go through like being afraid to tell people your a lesbian, or dating a teacher. But in the last book, they find out Allisons twin, Courtney switched places with her. When they thought Allison died, it was really Courtney. The real Allison killed her out of revenge. Then she started making her sister's "friends" a living hell. They meet Allison in a mental hospital, and she befriends them.

it's about there are 5 friends named Alison,Hanna,Spencer,Emily.and Aria abd Alison dies but the girls start getting messages from a person with the initial -A and they think Alison is still alive but Alison only knew their secrets they never found out of any of her secrets and they all have to keep this secret of hers that is called THE JENNA THING now the Jenna Thing is about Alison thinks she saw Toby peek through their window while they were changing clothes so Alison wants revenge and she lights his garage on fire but didn't know that Jenna was in there and Toby was going to tell the police that it was them but Alison had something on him which is that one time Alison looked through his window and saw that he raped Jenna-his stepsister so he couldn't tell the police it was them or else Alison will tell everybody that they were the ones who did that so a couple weeks later Alison died - but this is what happened -the true story

The girls were having a sleepover at Spencer's barn and since Alison lives right across from Spencer's. After that Alison and Spencer had a argument and told Alison to leave but she didn't really think she will do it. So she went after Alison, but then she heard Alison scream the reason Alison (Courtney) screamed was because the real Alison had killed her- you see the girls never knew that Alison had a twin sister Courtney and Courtney was pretending to be Alison while the real Alison was in a mental hospital that actually Courtney was suppose to go to but their parents sent the wrong twin. Courtney was pretending to be Alison but the real Alison killed Alison because Courtney dumped Alison's best friend Naomi and Riley because Courtney didn't know who they were and ruined her good life with those losers (they called them that ) Aria, Spencer, Emily and Hanna. In the end Alison pretends to be Courtney, but then tells the girls she is not. She tries to hypnotize them like the day at the barn but just like the sleepover she is gone. They receive a note from A and the house is set on fire. The girls see Ian's body in the closet but Melissa is alive behind him. They manage to escape and realize the friend who died was Courtney, who was mean. Alison they really didn't even know, only when she was friends with Naomi and Riley. The end of the book hints that Alison may still be out there with a new name and identity...still watching....
