A valve keeper, also known as a valve retainer, is a small component used in internal combustion engines to secure the valve spring to the valve stem. It prevents the valve spring from dislodging and ensures proper functioning of the engine's valvetrain. Typically made of metal, valve keepers fit into grooves on the valve stem, holding the spring in place and maintaining the correct pressure for optimal engine performance.

a diode is a device that alows current to flow in one direction you have power diodes which are used in rectification processes and high current operations but the two main families of diodes are solid state diodes or valve operated diodes.
Wouldnt have thought so mate ,depends on the extent of the damage, reed valve damage will only bring the power down and give performance issues i would say ,ive just done the piston on my cr250 1999 and i put it back together and the power was down so i stripped it again to find the reed valve was damaged

To clean the power valve on a YZ 250, first, remove the exhaust pipe and the power valve cover to access the valve assembly. Use a degreaser or carb cleaner to remove any carbon buildup, scrubbing gently with a soft brush if necessary. After cleaning, make sure to inspect the valve for wear or damage before reassembling everything securely. Finally, ensure that the valve operates smoothly by manually moving it before reinstalling the exhaust pipe.
