In the original 1900 book edition of 'The Wizard of Oz', the Cowardly Lion is called just the Cowardly Lion. But the Cowardly Lion takes on two personalities in the beloved 1939 film version. In the Oz dreamland sequence, the Lion is the Lion. But in the Kansas sequences, he is the farmhand Zeke of Kansas.

No; and yes. In the original 1900 book edition of The Wizard of Oz, the Cowardly Lion has no name. At the end of the story, he becomes the Ruler - albeit still unnamed - of the Great Old Forest. In the beloved 1939 film version, the Cowardly Lion is the equivalent in dreams to one of the three farmhands who are friends to Dorothy Gale in Kansas. In that role, his name is Zeke.
