Dally cares about Ponyboy to a certain extent. Ponyboy is the youngest brother of Dally's fellow greaser friends. He looks out for Ponyboy just like the rest of the Greasers do. The only person Dally really cares about is Johnny Cade.

Ponyboy is well-educated. He has morals. He wants to finish school, and not be caught up with the crimes of his friends, but they all love each other. Ponyboy does not like to vandalize or anything, even though he did play the smoke game with a kid's little brother who's name leaves me at this moment. Ponyboy is also very sensitive.

By reading the book... Ponyboy curtis is a quiet boy who is different from the rest of the greasers, he has light brown almost red hair and green-grayish eyes. (he wishes they were more gray becasue most of the people he hated had green eyes) Ponyboy enjoys watching movies and likes reading books. He loves to watch sunsets. He is really smart in school, and he is a good runner, but he smokes.
Who (Greasers or Socs) do you think was wrong in the situation in the chapter?
For me, I think the Socs is wrong in the situation because they drowned ponyboy and johnny just helped ponyboy ..Wish it helps you :)

It means Ponyboy likes his world of heros and sunsets, but it's like living in a dream. Dally is similar to the world, cold and hard, because the world isn't a happy place for the greasers. The reality is that there is no sunsets or happiness, there's just problems and poverty, and that's why Dally scares Ponyboy.
