This eventually resulted in Jaya moving out of Amitabh's life and he was all about to get married to Rekha in few months when Coolie incident came up. Jaya used all her influence in getting Rekha out of the hospital and her house, not allowing her to meet with Rekha and went all out to behave like a true Indian pativarta nari... Amitabh broke down emotionally and did not respond to Rekha. Hurt by his behaviour and betrayal she could not guess it and moved out of his life.
