I'm not sure about outside the US, but I can tell you inside the US there is no associate degree that would be considered equivalent to a bachelor's degree.
The equivalent is Two Year college degree or Associates degree.
It really does not matter whether the degree was taken within the US or Canada. The critical issue will be the schools accreditation, and whether the Canadian degree is equivalent to the US degree.
