blue remembered hills is about a child's novel. in the film the characters are played by adults who have to play 7 year old characters. the film and novel are set in the time of WW2, also the point of the play is to show an innocent boy (Donald) that gets killed in a fire because he is bullied by the rest of the gang. peter is a bully, willie is a bystander, Raymond a shy boy, john a person who sticks up for his friends, Angela the girl who gets all the boys, Audrey the 'ugly' one who bashes in people.

∙ 13y agoThe title is taken from A.E. Housman's 1896 poem: "Into my heart an air that kills; From yon far country blows; What are those blue remembered hills..." It's 1943 on a summer's afternoon and 7 children play in the fields & woods of old England. The children's roles are all played by adults to act as "A magnifying glass to show what it's like to be a child."
