you can't if your minor you'll just have to wait until your both eighteen There are some ways to work around it. In some states you can move out at 17 without parent consent. But since you are BOTH minors it makes it difficult. One of you would have to be 18 in order to sign for an apartment, etc. You would need a job, transportation and able to stay in school. Not all states are like this though. I would suggest asking a police officer what the local laws are.

16 Years of age is the limit. There are four (4) ways to become emancipated under Georgia law:

  • When a minor is legally married, the minor is automatically considered emancipated.
  • When a minor turn 18 years of age, the minor is automatically considered emancipated.
  • When a minor is on active duty in the U.S. military, the minor is automatically considered emancipated
  • A minor can file a petition in the Juvenile Court asking for a court order stating that he or she is emancipated. The parents either must approve or minor must prove it is in best interest to be emancipated.

The only state that allows for minors under the age of 18 to get married without parental consent if the bride is pregnant is Georgia.\Georgia: If you are 16 or 17 years old, you may apply if accompanied by both parents who have given written consent. If the bride is pregnant, no parental consent is required if you submit a statement from a Georgia licensed physician certifying that the bride is pregnant. If underage applicants already have a child, they should present a certified copy of the birth certificate for the child at the time of application. If parental consent is not required, the court will notify parents or guardians that you have been issued a marriage license.
