The Odyssey is a very lengthy poem (also referred to as an "epic") about a prideful man named Odysseus and his 10 year voyage from the Trojan War to his home in Ithaca. He is the King of Ithaca and his faithful wife and son wait for his return. Everyone in Ithaca believes that Odysseus is dead, except for Odysseus wife and son.
The Iliad is another epic about the Trojan War. It follows the story of Achilles and how his anger indirectly is responsible for the killing of his best friend. In the end Achilles accepts his faults and matures.

I beleive you are refering to the book Odyssey. It is a Greek epic poem written by Homer. It is also partly a sequel to one of his other works, Lliad.
