From Donald .P. Bellisario comes NCIS, a show bringing us the inner workings of the government agency that all crimes involving Navy and Marine Corps Personnel, regardless of the rank or position. From murder and espionage to terrorism and stolen submarines, these special agents traverse the globe to investigate all crimes with Navy or Marine Corps ties.
Leading the team that operates outside the military chain of command is Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs (Mark Harmon), a skilled investigator and interrogator who is smart, tough and willing tho bend the rules to get the job done. Working under Gibbs is Special Agent Tony DiNosso (Michael Weatherly), a former homicide detective who has instincts that can only come from working on the streets.
Joining them is Abby Sciuto (Pauley Perrette) a gifted forensics specialist whose dark wit matches her goth-style hair and clothes, and Dr Donald 'Ducky' Mallard (David McCallum) a medical examiner.
Through season one a new character is introduced- Special Agent Tim McGee ( Sean Murray) whose computer skills is a very big part of the NCIS team.
Special Agent Caitlin 'Kate' Todd (Sasha Alexander) , a former United States Secret Service agent, had brought her intelligence and gusty personality to the team through first two seasons, until May 24th while, during her duty, she was shot and murdered by a terrorist called Ari Haswari.
In season three, the team welcomed Mossad officer Ziva David (cote de Pablo), who took Kate's place in the team. the team also got a new director, Jenny Shepard (Lauren Holly). After her death at the end of season 5, the team got a new director, Leon Vance (Rocky Carroll).
Leon then separated up the team; sending Ziva back to Israel, McGee to a cyber crimes unit and Tony overseas as the 'agent afloat'. Gibbs was given a new team, one member of whom was a traitor. Special Agent Michelle Lee was found as the traitor, but sacrificed herself to save Gibbs Life. the team reunites, eventually.
In the end of season six, Tony kills Ziva's boyfriend, Michael Rifkin, in an attempt to save his own life. Ziva feels betrayed and returns to Israel. In the end episode of that season, we see Ziva in a room, tourtered by men, wanting to know information about NCIS.
