There were 2,000 of the 9-piece South African proof sets produced in 1951. They are valued (according to the 2010 Standard Catalog of World Coins) at $80.00 per set.
This would be the first year of coins with a portrait of King George VI. According to the Standard Catalog of World Coins, the 8-piece 1937 Proof set from South Africa (of which only 116 were produced) is valued at about US$800.

The Kruggerand is a gold coin from South Africa. They are released by the South African Mint and Government of South Africa. You could get them in South Africa or check with a local coin store.
There were 1 Rand and 2 Rand coins minted in gold in 1975, and some were produced for proof sets. South Africa in 1975 sold three different proof sets: an 8-coin set (1/2 cent, 1 cent, 2 cents, 5 cents, 10 cents, 20 cents, 50 cent and 1 rand [silver]); a 2-coin set (the two gold coins); and a 10-coin set (all of the above). I would suggest looking on eBay (the KM numbers are KM#63 for the 1 Rand and KM#64 for the 2 Rand).
Coins were not minted for South Africa in 1922....
Such a coin does not exist. The only British Half-Sovereign coins minted in 1923 were minted at the Pretoria Mint in South Africa and were all Proof coins.
This would be the first year of coins with a portrait of King George VI. According to the Standard Catalog of World Coins, the 8-piece 1937 Proof set from South Africa (of which only 116 were produced) is valued at about US$800.

South Africa produced 3,500 of the 9-coin proof sets in 1952. Acording to the 2010 edition of the Standard Catalog of World Coins, the set is valued at US$45.00. Note that the set contains 1.0223 troy ounces of silver (six of the nine coins are 50% silver), which means that it has a "melt" value (as of May 25, 2013, with silver at US$22.50 per troy ounce) of US$23.00. Note also that 12,000 of the 11-coin proof sets were also produced in 1952. These, by virtue of the inclusion of the gold pound and half-pound coins, are valued by the SCWC at US$400. However, those two additional coins contain 0.3532 troy ounces of gold and thus have a "melt" value (as of May 24, 2013 with gold at US$1387 per troy ounce) of US$489, so the US$400 number is clearly a bit low.

"Afrika Borwa" means "South Africa" in the Sepedi language. The value of your coin would depend on its year of mintage, denomination and condition.
