Guinness says the earliest demonstration of celluloid cinematograph film was given in Lyons, France on 22nd March 1895 by the Lumiere Brothers. The first public showing was at the Indian Salon of the Hotel Scribe in Paris 28th December 1895, ten short films including Baby's Breakfast, Lunch Hour at the Lumiere Factory and The Arrival of the Train, and they made 33 francs from the showing.
