The cause in the film seems to be because Regan found a Ouija board and played with it.
Paranormal Entity is a fictional story. However some people do experience hautings by spirits and demons. The movie is fictional, the experiences are possible. Dont go looking for ghosts unless your interested in danger. Ouija boards are an example of a dangerous way to communicate with the past. +++ More "dangerous" are those who delight in using internet fora and other ways to try to terrify people into thinking ghosts, demons and Ouija-boards are real. I regard it as a form of cyber-bullying. By all means watch horror films for entertainment, but they are all fiction - and a Ouija-board is only a bit of painted plywood used by those who delight in frightening themselves in childish games. I am aware that people do sometimes experience peculiar sensations etc., often when falling asleep, but these are all internal, often physiological, and have nowt whatsoever to do with faeries and hobgoblins that don't exist anyway.
Regan Gets possessed, because she not only plays with an Ouija board, and makes contact with "Captain Howdy", but it is revealed it is actually an ancient demon named Pazuzu. But, it is later revealed in The Exorcist 2, that Pazuzu only posses people who have a psychic gift, and Regan DOES have a psychic gift! So, Ouija board, and her psychic gift.
Ouija boards are a physical, tangible item that can be purchased in the gaming section of many major retail stores as well as several online stores. Ouija Boards are very real in this sense. In the sense of being real for spiritual communication, that is debated by many people. People in what is known as the magical community, believe that they can be used as tools to divine messages from the spiritual world. Others do not believe in the supernatural or spirits and believe that it is only a game and that it is the people themselves influencing the movement of the plachette, or eye piece.
Yes. But I wouldn't recommend it.
In the USA the Oujia board is not illegal, and available in most stores like Walmart, Toysrus and other stores that carry board games. Some cultures forbid their people to use them, and some other countries might have laws against the occult including Ouija boards. In my experience they have brought trouble to a lot of people. I have done paranormal investigations for people who have used Ouija boards and shortly after had very negative paranormal experiences. No one can say if there is a correlation between Ouija boards and entity intrusion, possession, or poltergeist activity, however there are plenty of testimony from people on the subject.
If you know people who have then the question is redundant.
Ouija Board Handicap was created in 1997.
You could use a Ouija board, but I do not recommend it for begginers, as nervousness can attract negative spirits. Use a ghostbox or join a paranormal group to learn skills
There are many various places where one can read stories about ouija boards. One good place would be the paranormal board of 4chan. Another good place would be horror stories on the AnotherNet website. A third good place would be the OuijaBoardTales website.
Diane the girl Micah finds on the computer that was possessed.. It acually does not say Diane, it says Micah then goodbye. this is surely a reference to the fact that the demon does not like that Micah is antagonizing him and is planning to kill him. Another reference to the dislike the demon has for Micah is the slashes on Micah's face in the picture.
People use the ouija board to contact the AFTER life. Alien life would not get through by a ouija board.
To Close the ouija board, one says Goodbye' and packs up the board in it's container.
If you mean, by "games", something like a Oujia board then hear is your answer. Ouija (Wigi) boards are VERY dangerous and can make a "normal" person completely different. They create portals from the paranormal zone/state/world which can let in demons into our world. I'm paranormal and want to try out a Ouija board but I am going to have someone VERY experienced there to help close any portals, that I may have opened, and to bring back any demons, that I mat have let out. I would not recommend messing with Ouija boards or any other "games" dealing with that state. Again it can be VERY dangerous!!!

There is no difference. It is simply a matter of mispronunciation of the correct name: Ouija.
