it is about a man (Tom Hanks), who is a bit slow at learning. he is sitting on a park bench, waiting for a bus, to go to his one true loves house. while he is waiting he tells his entire life story to anyone who sits on the park bench next to him; how he was teased when he was younger, his best friend (jenny, the woman he is waiting to catch the bus for), how he went to war, how he ran for two years, how his mum died. When he is finally finished, the lady says that jenny's house is only a few blocks away, so he runs to her house. He finds out that she has a son who is his kid too. then jenny dies, and Tom Hanks has to look after his son by himself.
