Suspiria follows a fictitious American Ballet student named Suzy Bannion who enrolls in a dance school in Germany. At this school, she encounters a number of disturbing occurrences, including the death of some of her newly found friends. She learns that the school was founded and currently run by witches, and learns that the coven can be destroyed if its queen is killed. Suzy gains entrance to spy on the coven, only to be discovered and attacked by one of her friends, now resurrected and controlled by the queen herself. Suzy attacks the queen witch, which sets the school aflame. Suzy escapes.
