In my opinion on the matter, the ghosts represent the history of hogwarts and how it has been and changed over the years. Plus, a place for them to be for the rest of their death if they wish. I believe that they are there for a somewhat home, and historical reasons.
It did come out handy though having the ghosts there. Moaning Myrtle in COS. Helena Ravenclaw (Grey Lady) in DH.
They might have also been there for entertainment purposes. I don't really believe that there is a huge reason why they're at hogwarts.
Hope this helped.
Gryffindor, like Harry and Ron (and the rest of the Weasley's)
There are six prefects in each house, two for each year.
Harry Potter set Dobby, the malfoy's house-elf free by giving him socks.
it dies
The Weasleys had a "house ghost" that lived in their attic.
I think there's a ghost for each house plus one so about five
they live (if you get what I mean) on the same way they did they continue being house ghosts I think he means how did they die. The Bloody Baron killed the Grey Lady, and then was killed himself. Nearly Headless Nick died from execution. The Fat Friar ran away from her mother, Helena Hufflepuff, and died in the woods.
The House ghosts are:Nearly Headless NickThe Fat FriarThe Grey LadyThe Bloody BaronMoaning Myrtle is a student that died in the girls lavatory.Professor Binns died on the job and continues to teach.
