In Bram Stoker's novel 'Dracula', while Mina is Mina Murray, the two are engaged. Soon after Jonathan's reappearence in Buda Pest after his horrors in Transylvania, the two are married, and Mina Murray becomes Mina Harker. The two love each other deeply, both fearing for the other's safety. They work together to destroy Dracula.
