No. If you are writing an informative essay, you would most likely be asked a question about your opinion. If you are writing a persuasive essay, you are trying to make or persuade (hence) a person to feel a certain way about something.

(By the way it would be

"Are informative essays and persuasive essays the same?"

If you wanted to use "Is", then you would've said:

"Is a persuasive essay the same thing as a informative essay?")

When writing a narrative you simply tell your audience about a fact or an event, i.e., sharing information. An argumentative essay aims at stating the author's opinion on something and trying to get the audience to agree with it. In the case of the latter one you will need to prove your point and support it by a list of powerful arguments.

Yet, an essay is an essay, is an essay :) So, try to keep it short and amusing.
