The thief of always makes you feel excited as you flip through each chapter.

The main theme of the novel is that a young boy Harvey swick bored by daily chores, school, homework etc., invited by an unknown visitor visits Mr. Hood's holiday house - a place of miracles, a blissful round of treats and seasons, a place where every childish whim is satisfied.

It is only when the house shows it's darker face - when harvey discovers the pitiful creatures that dwell in its shadow - that he comes to doubt Hood's philanthropy.

The story after he doubts hoods house revolves around his adventure to discover the secrets of house, find answers to his questions, fights against magic, get back what's stolen by hood and escape from that place.

Overall it's a combination of adventure, mystery, children's fantasy, vampires, suspense, courage, fear and victory over dark forces.
