I believe they called it South Park because there is 17 cities in USA that's called South Park. The reason to do that is because what happens in South Park could happen in any town.

Is south park real?

I like to believe it's real because that's where i spend all my time....- OK really? THE south park is located in Colorado. The main town in SOUTH PARK is a little town called Fairplay. It is a little mountain town ABOVE 10,000 feet, about a half hour away from Breck. South Park's (TV show) creator(s) grew up in a nearby town but though South Park was a better TV show name. NONE of the characters are real or based off people in South Park. The ONLY similarity is that in Fairplay children have to wear snowsuits on Halloween cause its always FREEZING!! The school mascot is the BURRO. THERE IS A SOUTH PARK IN NC

Where is South Park Colorado?

South Park is not fictional, just not a city or a town. ------------- There is a north, middle and south park in Colorado. I know, I lived in towns which were within the Middle Park and the South Park. South Park lies in the west central portion of Park County, which lies northwest of Colorado Springs. Fairplay is the County Seat of Park County. (I used to live there!) The "Park" is a relatively flat uplifted area surrounded by high mountains. The average elevation in the "park" is 10,000 ft. It is bordered on the east by the Front Range and on the west by the Mosquito Range. You enter into South Park from the northest via State Hwy. 285 over Kenosha Pass, from the south east on Route 9, from the north over Hoosier Pass also on Route 9. The geometric center of Colorado lies in South Park. Look at a relief map of Colorado on Google maps, look at the center of the state and you'll see the South Park. --------------- To locate on a map the area of South Park that comes to mind for Colorado drivers, see the open space surrounding the roughly 20-mile stretch of U.S. 24 east of its intersection with U.S. 285.
