Values are whatever you can get for it in the moment. People looking for this type of info are wanting a specific $ amount or range, but that's really just not intellectually honest. It's a rough guess usually made to stroke your ego and appraisers charge you about thirty bucks for that.

Here's what you do: go to two or three music dealers and ask them what they will give you for the guitar right now. Multiply that by 4. That's the actual value of your instrument. Yeah, the dealer will low-ball you drastically so he can turn a profit. But thrn there's always eBay. Under the right conditions, like competitive bidders at an auction, the "value" may soar to crazy heights but the stars and moon have to line up for that type of magic to happen. Generally though, the BEST method is to see what they are going for on eBAY in as close a condition to yours as possible, adjust for condition and modifications away from factory original equipment, and there you go!


In the collector market the value won't be astounding. That doesn't diminish the cool factor of owning a cool vintage Fender that you don't see every day. Also: remember that if you "restore" it the value will plummet. The old funky paint and occasional chip here and there will be TONS more desireable than a re-painted one with fresh hardware. Leave it stock, only changing out what is broken or impeding the ability to play the instrument.
