One of the worst television shows was Go- Go Gophers- with the dopey theme song- one verse going : Go Go Gophers, watch "em goh goh goh ( there was a definite H (Indian sound effects) pronunciation, like Ghost. then Go Go Gophers onto San Jacinto- mispronounced ( as many Easterners would sound it out- San (Jack-In-to) The Gophers were American Indians, and the Coyotes were Cavalry or Lawman types. Colonel Wile-E. Coyote was an obvious take-off on Theodore Roosevelt. props and time sequences were inaccurate. The episode about the reconnaissance plane could not have happened in the old west. if Tennesee Tuxedo had its good points- Go Go Gophers was definitely oin the Nadir of kiddy shows. Other questionable ones included some one-shot Cartoons which frequently had kids- drawn as humans, not animal cartoons- in dire situation that were plausible- trapped in fire situations, accidentally abandoned in a closet after a detention sort of thing- lying comatose on a street corner after a traffic accident while mothers sob ( Speak to me ) there was a weird and often frightening mix. this stuff often never got in the TV guide except under the blanket head of ( cartoons -children) some were in very questionable taste.
