From everything deduced from the Rudolph special, and the producer's comments, Dolly didn't have anything physically wrong with her, but (likely from luck of the draw) found herself victim to little girl's preferring other dolls over her for differing and conflicting reasons (therefore becoming a Misfit Toys . . . one that NO CHILD loves . . . according to Charley-In-The-Box). But she was brought to the Island of Misfit Toys after being given to one little girl, but that girl not wanting her either (like all the others) and getting abandoned and/or cast away. She became hopelessly depressed from not being loved or wanted (and cast away), leading to psychological depression. Therefore, the producer of the show said that her problem was PSYCHOLOGICAL.
